How can we prevent this?
A way to make sure that future genocides don't happen is make sure our Government is strong and able to take care of us. Things started going down hill in basically every genocide because a bad guy got a hold of the government. By making sure our government is sturdy that will make it harder for genocides to take place. By making sure our government is sturdy will also help other issues that is at hand.
Background information of Darfur
Darfur is a region in Sudan. It all started when General Omar Bashir took over Sudan by military. This caused tension from the National Islamic Front government. While people were trying to get political control over Sudan, weapons started making their way into Darfur. In 2003 both the Sudan Liberation Army and the Justice and Equality movement complained to the Sudanese government saying that they weren't protecting their people by attacks from nomads. The sudanese government decided to let the Arab Militias "Janjaweed" do whatever they pleased. This was the beginning of the ongoing genocide.
